Full-time MSc or PhD in quantum information for student who loves electronics

Graduate program opening in Quantum hacking lab at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo.

I'm looking for a MSc or PhD student with solid electronics knowledge, having a passion for and being able to carefully design, debug, make and reverse-engineer custom mixed-signal electronics. The candidate should also have background and interest in at least one of the following areas: physics, applied physics, quantum information, quantum optics, optics, fiber optics, optical telecommunications. There are several projects in my lab that require messing with electronics, such as design of advanced single-photon detectors, quantum communication systems, and security analysis of quantum key distribution systems.

Very good grades (top 20% of the class and higher) are required. Research experience and papers published in research journals are an advantage. Fluent English is required.
