I use these 2-wire i2c RGB button shields for almost all of my concept-test prototyping. They offer a super fast way of coding a basic UI for non-engineers to interface with my prototypes. Recently my projects have hit limitations with the LCD screen size, so I'd like a version of the shield which offers the 20x4 character screen. I'd also like to arrange the buttons a bit different to improve user interaction.
I imagine this on a Mega shield, but open to suggestions. No additional features, no new buttons/inputs, no library changes other than 20x4 functionality. But feel free to offer something you'd think to be helpful (like a Qwiic/STEMMA or Grove port for easy i2c connection).
The job would be to: design/prototype/build/test an i2c RGB 20x4 character LCD with 5 button d-pad (plus reset) Arduino shield, and supply 4 working prototypes with the design files and code library.
Submit a bid; payment upon completion. This must be fixed cost: no time/materials. We can divide it up into milestones if you want.
Also, we do not require sole ownership of the design. Feel free to sell it on your own or offer it to Adafruit for royalties.
