At Blues Wireless, the Developer Relations team connects our engineering, marketing, product, and sales teams to the developer community. We directly support and encourage IoT developers to build solutions using our hardware and services in an honest and empathetic manner.

A Senior Developer Advocate at Blues Wireless is an engaged evangelist of our products, as well as a voice for the developer within our company. Senior Developer Advocates are often engineers looking to extend their influence in the community via speaking engagements, generating written/video content, and promoting Blues Wireless as a whole.

The Senior Developer Advocate has proven ability in all the aspects of DevRel: coding, community outreach, and content generation. They are at the front lines of initiatives and blazing a trail which other Advocates will follow. They work independently, require little to no guidance, collaborate effectively, and can manage complex tasks and initiatives.

Drive the success of Blues Wireless by delivering articulate, effective, and entertaining written content for a developer audience.
Create world-class technical presentations for in-person or online delivery, including slides, demos, and shareable code. Regularly experiment with new/creative ways to make presentations stand-out from "typical" online events.
Organize and lead webinar and live streaming efforts, including content generation, resource coordination, and any necessary collateral.
Boost the awareness and adoption of Blues Wireless by building and promoting featured IoT projects that help illustrate how our products can be used to accomplish specific tasks.
Engage with the Blues Wireless and IoT communities on a regular basis to build relationships and maintain contact with industry influencers and active customers.
Become a trusted and recognized technical thought leader for customers, partners, and prospects. Demonstrate the ability to get new developers to begin using Blues Wireless technologies.
Advocate for developers internally and provide early feedback to product/engineering teams regarding inside industry information and real-world product use.
Effectively communicate technical trends and concepts in simpler terms to non-technical audiences when necessary.
Proactively suggest and lead strategic initiatives within the Developer Relations team.
Must be willing to travel to: industry events to deliver presentations, support onsite marketing activities, and attend both internal and customer meetings (~10% travel expected).

BA/BS degree in EE, CS, CE, MIS (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2 years as a Developer Advocate (or equivalent experience).
Understanding of fundamental programming concepts, with at least 7 total years of development experience and 2 years of recent experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, C/C++, and/or Arduino.
Experience building IoT projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino platforms.
Expert-level domain expertise in the IoT and experience working with IoT communities.
Experience presenting at tech conferences/hackathons/meetups.
Able to provide an existing portfolio of technical writing or blogs targeted at developers.
Regular (visible) contributions to open source projects is a plus.
Experience with Machine Learning (or services like Edge Impulse) is a plus.
Experience working with one or more Blues Wireless products is a plus.
